SUBSIDIARY BODIES:

Japan, the US, Austria and Canada said that no subsidiary bodies should be established. Tunisia, supported by Mexico, Venezuela and Brazil, suggested establishment of a follow-up body linking the COP and the GEF. Some, including the EC, noted that coherence between the two bodies will be a matter of coherence within Governments, since it will be the same Governments that will be represented in the COP and in the Participant's Assembly of the GEF.
