Simultaneous Extraordinary Meetings of the Conferences of the Parties to the Basel, Rotterdam, and Stockholm Conventions (ExCOPs), and Eleventh Special Session of the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) Governing Council/ Global Ministerial Environment Forum (GCSS-11/GMEF)

22-26 February 2010 | Bali, Indonesia

Singers On Wednesday, 24 February 2010, the Simultaneous Extraordinary Meeting of the Conferences of the Parties (ExCOPs) to the Basel, Rotterdam, and Stockholm Conventions concluded, and the Eleventh Special Session of the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) Governing Council and Global Ministerial Environment Forum (GCSS-11/GMEF) convened at the Bali International Conference Centre in Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia.

At the start of the morning, the ExCOPs convened in a final plenary in which the COPs of all three Conventions simultaneously adopted an omnibus decision. The closure of the ExCOPs was followed by the opening ceremony for GCSS-11/GMEF, featuring President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono of Indonesia.

In the remainder of the morning and in the afternoon, delegates met in ministerial consultations and the Committee of the Whole. Drafting groups also met during the afternoon.
