Delegates to the Ministerial Conference met Saturday in an opening plenary of the Conference in the morning, hearing several high-level speakers. In the afternoon, delegates convened in sub-groups to discuss: safe drinking water and sanitation; water for food and rural development; water pollution prevention and ecosystem conservation; disaster mitigation and risk management; and water resources management and benefit sharing. The World Water Development Report was also officially launched and participants to the 3rd World Water Forum met to discuss the World Water Assessment Programme.
