Biodiversity, Kyoto meetings conclude |
|
Riyadh and Paris, 21 September—Two high-level meetings, one on biodiversity in the context of European development cooperation,
the other on the Kyoto Protocol’s Clean Development
Mechanism, have just ended on Thursday afternoon, 21

biodiversity conference in Paris is expected to contribute to European and international efforts to reach the 2010 Biodiversity Target and 2015 Millennium Development Goal. Meanwhile, the
CDM meeting
in Riyadh involved discussions on the role of CDM in
supporting development and a roundtable on carbon
dioxide capture and storage, ahead of the major UN
climate conference taking place in Nairobi in November. IISD
summary reports on both meetings will be available online by 24 September.
