UN HOLDS HIGH-LEVEL MEETING
WITH WTO, IMF, WORLD BANK

A high-level
meeting of the UN’s Economic and Social Council with the Bretton
Woods institutions, World Trade Organization and UN Conference
on Trade and Development has been held at UN headquarters in New
York. The meeting focused on issues such as the Doha trade round
and trade-distorting subsidies for agriculture, the “Aid for
Trade Initiative,” matters relating to financing for
development, debt relief, and the risks of protectionism.
