4TH WORLD WATER FORUM CONCLUDES
16-22 March 2006 | Mexico City, Mexico
The 4th World Water Forum has ended in Mexico City with ministerial roundtables and a closing plenary. The meeting, which focused on the theme, “Local actions for a global challenge,” involved over 200 thematic sessions and drew an estimated 11,000 participants. BIOSAFETY MEETING ADOPTS DECISION ON DOCUMENTATION OF GM COMMODITIES
13-17 March 2006 | Curitiba, Brazil
The third Meeting of the Parties to the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety (COP/MOP-3) has ended with agreement on detailed documentation requirements for living modified organisms for food, feed, or processing (LMO-FFPs), as set out in Article 18.2(a) of the Protocol. COP/MOP-3 also considered reports on ongoing activities under the Protocol, as well as risk assessment and risk management, compliance, monitoring and reporting, and assessment and review of implementation.
