IPCC FINALIZES REPORT ON
CARBON CAPTURE AND STORAGE
22-28 September 2005 | Montreal,
Canada
The
Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has held two
back-to-back meetings in Montreal, finalizing the Special Report
on Carbon Dioxide Capture and Storage. Participants also
finished their work on the programme and budget for 2006-2008,
and discussed issues such as emission scenarios, aerosols,
outreach and the Synthesis Report of the Fourth Assessment
Report. However, delegates were unable to agree on revised
election procedures.

MEETING ON STRATEGIC
APPROACH TO CHEMICALS MANAGEMENT ENDS WITHOUT AGREEMENT
19-25 September 2005 | Vienna,
Austria
A meeting to develop a strategic approach to international
chemicals management (SAICM) has ended with delegates unable to
agree on some key elements. Further negotiations will take place
in Dubai in February 2006.
