Second MOP on Gorilla Agreement Addresses Budget Shortfall, Action Plans Review

29 November 2011: Participants at the second Meeting of the Parties (MOP 2) of the Agreement on the Conservation of Gorillas and their Habitats (the Gorilla Agreement), under the auspices of the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) discussed the outcomes of the International Year of the Gorilla (YoG) 2009 and adopted resolutions on institutional arrangements for the Agreement, the review of Action Plans, and cooperation on law enforcement, among other decisions. CMS COP 10 Agrees to List Additional Species, Sends Climate Change Message to Durban

25 November 2011: The 10th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP 10) of the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) adopted 27 resolutions, including on: synergies and partnerships; the future shape of the CMS; enhanced engagement with the Global Environment Facility (GEF); and climate change and migratory species. Ozone COP/MOP Adopts Decision on Multilateral Fund Replenishment

25 November 2011: Parties to the Montreal Protocol adopted over 25 decisions, including: a US$450 million replenishment of the Multilateral Fund to the Montreal Protocol (MLF) for the period of 2012-2014; issues related to exemptions; mitigation of ODS emissions from feedstock and process-agent uses; updating the nomination processes and recusal guidelines for the Technology and Economic Assessment Panel (TEAP); the treatment of ODS used to service ships; and additional information on alternatives.
