UNCSD Dates Announced, Drafting Procedure for Outcome Adopted at PrepCom II
|
8 March 2011: Delegates at the second session of the Preparatory Committee (PrepCom II) for the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio 2012), which took place from 7-8 March 2011, at UN Headquarters in New York, adopted a decision outlining the process for preparing the draft outcome document for the UNCSD. The Government of Brazil also announced that UNCSD will take place from 4-6 June 2012, and PrepCom II will take place from 28-30 May 2012. More. 4 March 2011: The Intergovernmental Preparatory Meeting (IPM) for the 19th session of the Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD 19), which took place at UN Headquarters in New York from 28 February-4 March 2011, resulted in a Chair's draft negotiating text that will serve as a starting point for CSD 19 negotiations on transport, chemicals, waste management, mining and sustainable consumption and production patterns.
