6 May—The 18th session of the
Commission on Sustainable Development is
almost at its halfway mark at UN
Headquarters. Meeting from 3-14 May,
delegates are reviewing the thematic
cluster of transport, chemicals, waste
management, mining, and the 10-year
framework of programmes on sustainable
consumption and production patterns.

29 April—A consultation for
Caribbean nations has been held in Port
of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. The event
was organized by the United Nations
Development Programme (UNDP) Regional
Programme for Latin America and the
Caribbean as part of a regional
initiative entitled “Biodiversity and
Ecosystems: Why these are Important for
Sustained Growth and Equity in Latin
America and the Caribbean.”
