RealAudio interviews with Habitat II Participants

The Third Session of the Preparatory Committee ended in the early evening of 16 February 1996 at UN Headquarters in New York. At the conclusion of this meeting there were three general statements made in Plenary. We have the audio recordings of these three:

• Costa Rica, on behalf of the G-77 and China, expresses her dissatisfaction with the PrepCom and several of the decisions taken during the previous two weeks;
• Martti Lujanen, Chair of the Preparatory Commitee, closes the Third Session.

On 14 February the G-77 and the European Union gave general statements on Chapter F on institutional follow-up to the United Nations Conference on Human Settlements. Following these two statements we spoke with Felix Dodds, UN Environment and Development Committee of the UK for an NGO postion on this issue.

On 14 February, Earth Negotiations Bulletin Managing Editor, Kimo Goree, spoke with both Felix Dodds and Tony Hill, Coordinator of the United Nations Non-Governmental Liaison Service (NGLS) about the role of NGOs in the Habitat II process.
