Fifth Session of the United Nations Forum on Forests
16 May to 27 May 2005 | UN headquarters, New York
The Fifth session of the United Nations Forum on Forests
(UNFF-5) will be held from 16 May to 27 May 2005 at UN Headquarters
in New York. Participants in this meeting will review international
progress in forestry issues and consider future actions, review the
effectiveness of the international arrangement on forests, and
consider the parameters of a mandate for developing a legal framework
on all types of forests. A high-level ministerial segment and policy
dialogue with heads of organizations participating in the Collaborative
Partnership on Forests will also be among the events at UNFF-5.
Outputs from this session will include recommendations made to ECOSOC, and
through it, to the General Assembly.
