Saturday, 9 October

On Saturday, various drafting groups convened under the AWG-LCA to consider shared vision, adaptation, mitigation, and finance, technology and capacity building. Contact groups under the AWG-KP addressed legal issues and other matters. In the afternoon, Patricia Espinosa, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of Mexico and President-Designate of COP 16 and CMP 6 delivered a message to Parties and observers. The closing plenaries of the AWG-KP and the AWG-LCA convened in the late afternoon and into the night. The AWG-KP agreed to forward a revised proposal by the Chair to facilitate preparations for negotiations (FCCC/KP/AWG/2010/CRP.3) to Cancun and adjourned the meeting at 5:14pm. Under the AWG-LCA, parties agreed to reflect their outputs of their work in an information document, recognizing that the negotiating text (FCCC/AWGLCA/2010/14) will still form the basis for negotiations in Cancun. AWG-LCA Chair Mukahanana-Sangarwe declared AWG-LCA 12 closed at 10:23pm.
