Nineteenth Meeting of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) Plants Committee (PC)

Highlights for Thursday, 21 April 2011
CITESOn Thursday, the PC discussed cooperation in the context of the CBD Global Strategy for Plant Conservation, transport of live specimens, nomenclature matters and progress on the CITES identification manual. Plenary adopted the recommendations from the working groups on the PC work-plan, the Review of Significant Trade, Non-Detriment Findings, amendments to appendices related to Madagascar, and agarwood-producing taxa. Plenary also took note of working groups’ recommendations on various issues related to annotations, including clarification of terms. CITES Secretary-General John Scanlon drew the meeting to a close at 5:57 pm.
