Working Groups I and II met throughout the day and into the night.
Working Group I discussed draft recommendations on forest and marine and coastal biodiversity, and Working Group II on climate change, sustainable use, protected areas and the Global Taxonomy Initiative.
A joint drafting group was established to consider REDD and geo-engineering as cross-cutting pending items for the draft recommendations on forest, protected areas, climate change and marine biodiversity, which met at lunchtime.
A Friends of the Co-chairs’ group discussed the proposed joint work programme between the Rio Conventions in the afternoon, and a contact group met to discuss pending issues on sustainable use at lunchtime.
