The Fourth World Conference on Women, will be held in Beijing from 4-15 September 1995. We have identified several sources of background information on the Conference including:

• The Earth Negotiations Bulletin has a summary of the negotiating process through the 39th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women . (Also available in Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format)
• A background document provided by the Conference Secretariat;
• Issues of " Women on the Move", published by the Conference Secretariat;
• Media information
• Press releases from the United Nations Department of Public Information, including the press release at the conclusion of negotiations on the Draft Platform for Action at the Commission on the Status of Women and background documents.
• UNDP has provided gopher access to information on the Fourth World Conference on Women;
• The Institute for Global Communications has a gopher menu with information on the Women's Conference (the APC networks have a number of private conferences related to women's issues);
• The APC Fact sheet is a good backgrounder on the process;
• The Women's Environment and Development Organization (WEDO) has a fact sheet on the Women's Conference, Women's Linkages Caucus documents, and a general listing of information on their gopher server.
